Warring in the Warren

Tonight we have ventured deep into Urgoz' Warren on hard mode and despite some initial trouble (such as discovering Searing Flames nuke actually causes heavy scatter) and other accidents (for example yours truly dying in the middle of the warden mob as the party's only tank) we've managed to get to the final boss and whack him good without even using EoE. We were however amply rewarded for our trouble with several chests and - in V's case - a double Urgoz' Longbow drop. Grats V! That was the first event I've organised, so a big "thank you" goes to everyone participating for not shouting at me and especially to Terra who led the entire group. What we did this summer...

Picture above: from the final epic event of the summer So what have we been up to in the last month? LOTS, thats what! far too much for me to be clogging the main page up every 3 days. I am at uni from September - June and as such, my events are usually limited to when i don't have a mountain of work. As apology for this, I endeavoured this summer to cover every elite area as many times as I could, so everyone could enjoy the achievement of working as a team and get their shiny monument statues. Last night, in the first of our big summer events, we took a team down to slavers exile to teach the stone summit who's boss. We ran a few unusual builds (a healing mesmer and a scythe warrior for instance) but all worked very well. Not much joy on the loot front, as most people got onyx/diamonds, but I got duncans scythe which i didnt need and so gave to himourai (see picture). I was very impressed by how quickly and easily we went through this place, managing to do all 4 areas in one evening. Unfortunately prax had to leave before we could take our picture. I photoshopped him in (can you tell?) but i think there might be something wrong with the picture and try as I might I can't figure out what.... ... Urgoz got mobbed!

On friday night it was time for the long awaited urgoz run! people started turning up about 7pm, with the run getting underway by about 8.15. We stormed through the first few areas with no problems whatsoever, which quickly became a trend for the rest of the run. I reckon we only had a handful of deaths all the way through. A few chests turned up along the way, dropping shiny zodiac weapons for most people. We killed urgoz around 1hours 38mins in. No shiny greens this time, but it was so quick we could easily have gone back down for another try if we wanted. You missed the urgoz run!

Ok not really, excuse the cruel joke. Tonight the officers + 7 heroes went down into urgoz lair to test some builds and make sure we didnt embarass ourselves come the real thing. We found it remarkably easy with our new build - so much so that we completed it! For those of you that remember our 6 hour marathon trek, by comparison this run took just 2.5 hours. And 30 minutes of that was spent trying to find a way to kill urgoz with idiot heroes that wouldn't kite away from explosive growths. Up until that last room we literally steamrolled it. Those interested in loot will like to know that ade got the coveted urgoz longbow whilst Prax went home with urgoz shortbow. I got mostly purples as per usual and Currently owe ade a lockpick!
